More than 40 ex-workers will get their jobs back after a buyer for a former Newport power station was announced.
More than 40 staff have been re-employed and more than 30 contractors will be permanently employed as SIMEC Group has bought Uskmouth Power Company Ltd.
Built around 50 years ago, Uskmouth was the UK’s oldest and least efficient coal fired power station, but now named Simec Uskmouth Power Ltd (SUP), plans are underway for the 393 megawat coal fired power plant to be converted to full biomass, making the production environmentally friendly.
